I am not really sure why our blog is called wedding extravaganza because the last thing we want is a huge wedding (at least I don't). I always pictured something small and simple without all the craziness. Especially after delivering cakes to different weddings this year. I have seen all that goes on and the crazy people that the brides and mothers turn into.
I have always thought about a beach wedding and have pictured a ceremony in the sand. Now, I am no obsessive bridezilla who has had her wedding day planned out since childhood, but over the years I have always thought about it and known that a beach wedding was what I would like. Especially a destination beach wedding. Because then you get the holiday and wedding in one (easy way to justify the trip).

With Matt's tight schedule, we have decided that the wedding will have to be sometime in the last two weeks of August. I have contacted a bunch of places on Vancouver Island and most of them are already booked for Saturday receptions.
Luckily for Matt and I, I have also been doing research on different destinations and have contacted different places about prices. There are so many great wedding packages in different countries that it actually works out to be cheaper to have it somewhere other than BC!
So the planning continues (whenever I can get Matt's attention for more than 30 seconds), and we hope to have everything all figured out within the next month.
I seriously don't know how wedding planners can do it.
